What is Silver plated copper wire?

Silver-plated copper wire, which is called silver-plated copper wire or silver-plated wire in some cases, is a thin wire drawn by a wire drawing machine after silver plating on oxygen-free copper wire or low-oxygen copper wire. It has electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance and high temperature oxidation resistance.
Silver-plated copper wire is widely used in electronics, communication, aerospace, military and other fields to reduce the contact resistance of metal surface and improve welding performance. Silver has high chemical stability, can resist the corrosion of alkali and some organic acids, does not interact with oxygen in general air, and silver is easy to polish and has reflective ability.

Silver plating can be divided into two types: traditional electroplating and nanometer electroplating.Electroplating is to place the metal in the electrolyte and deposit the metal ions on the surface of the device by current to form a metal film. The nano-plating is to dissolve the nano-material in the chemical solvent, and then through the chemical reaction, the nano-material is deposited on the surface of the device to form a nano-material film.

Electroplating needs to first put the device in the electrolyte for cleaning treatment, and then through the electrode polarity reversal, current density adjustment and other processes to control the polarization reaction speed, control the deposition rate and film uniformity, and finally in the washing, descaling, polishing wire and other post-processing links off the line. On the other hand, nano-plating is the use of chemical reaction to dissolve the nano-material in the chemical solvent by soaking, stirring or spraying, and then soak the device into the solution to control the concentration of the solution, reaction time and other conditions. make the nano-material cover the surface of the device, and finally go offline through post-processing links such as drying and cooling.

The cost of electroplating process is relatively high, which requires the purchase of equipment, raw materials and maintenance equipment, while nano-plating only needs nano-materials and chemical solvents, and the cost is relatively low.
The electroplated film has good uniformity, adhesion, gloss and other properties, but the thickness of the electroplated film is limited, so it is difficult to get a high thickness film. On the other hand, the nano-material film with high thickness can be obtained by nanometer plating, and the flexibility, corrosion resistance and electrical conductivity of the film can be controlled.
Electroplating is generally used for the preparation of metal film, alloy film and chemical film, mainly used in the surface treatment of automotive parts, electronic devices and other products. Nano-plating can be used in maze surface treatment, preparation of anti-corrosion coating, anti-fingerprint coating and other fields.

Electroplating and nano-plating are two different surface treatment methods, electroplating has advantages in cost and scope of application, while nano-plating can obtain high thickness, good flexibility, strong corrosion resistance and strong control, and it has a wide range of applications.
